Present were John Berry (Double Springs), chairman, Allan Harbison (Arley), vice chairman, Martha Lee (IDA), secretary, Jerry Mobley (Winston County Commission), Larry Albright (Haleyville), Derreck Cagle ( Lynn), and Shandy Porter (Addison).
A report on the Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment conducted by Gallet & Associates, Inc. was presented by Grady Batchelor, president of the Industrial Development Authority of Winston County, Inc. Gallet & Associates, Inc. found no evidence of recognized environmental conditions associated with the site. Therefore, Gallet & Associates, Inc. recommended no further action with respect to the site at this time.
The Cooperative District of Winston County, Inc. board then went into executive session to discuss a legal matter with its attorney, Jeff Mobley. The board reconvened and took the following actions: (1) adopted a resolution authorizing short-term financing through Traders & Farmers Bank, (2) adopted a resolution to authorize securing of long-term financing with The Frazier Lanier Company, and (3) authorized John Berry, chairman, and Martha Lee, secretary, to sign all resolution documents on behalf of the board required for purchasing the property. All of the motions and resolutions were made contingent upon final legal clearance by the attorney, Jeff Mobley, and securing of appropriate title insurance.
A final statement was made to let everyone know a groundbreaking will be announced in the coming weeks. The meeting was adjourned. |
